Strive and Thrive - It's A First interaction Session of this year

"They say just living is not enough. You need little sunshine, few raindrops and a tinge of freedom to experience life in a life itself."

A day of a kind. My visit to a session, and a day when I jumped (in the air) after a good, long stretch (the last time was at school long ago).

To strengthen the same, bright sunny morning followed the refreshing rain.
While waiting for the session to begin, I took a momentary plunge to observe the preparation time for the same. Nischal, our Editorial Team head, highlighted few significant reasons of the 'interaction' session to every one of us. Usually, the session schedule includes of multiple tasks. This time, however, it was a assessment session. We only wanted to assess kids and need to trace talents in kids.

There was a unique exuberance in every volunteer who attended to session today. Oblivious up then what it was all about, what today session is about stays crystal clear in our mind.

Today's session offered me an insight of schools/Sahaya:
The organisational hierarchy in the Sahaya team starting with a volunteers, School Heads, editorial team & all the way till the core team is probably the reason how our operations school this year well be so structured, delivered and monitored. This hierarchy will ensured that decision making is decentralized but yet accountable without slowing down the program implementation. Dedicated volunteers to respective classes/Schools will increase the benefits of learning by children.
The World of Difference journey for me has been a Journey of Discovery.
Discovering joy, hope, positivity, contentment in every volunteer.
Discovering the amazing world of Sahaya that is touching the lives of children in such a wonderful manner and helping them take on the world with confidence.
All in all, it was a new day, in every possible sense. Our session coupled with interaction to many bright hearts. We returned renewed and energized.

Cheers,
Srikanth :-)

An Introduction Summary for the Academic Year 2013-14

It is relatively easy to look backward and recognize changes, but it is always more difficult to visualize what lies ahead. Perspective planning is needed because of its visionary in nature with almost speculative anticipation in the context of the constantly changing academic environments which is becoming increasingly unpredictable.

The restrictive effect of an excessive academic load often prevents the student to find time to engage in other worth activities. Here Sahaya is providing an ample opportunity to children for their overall development by organizing sessions once in a week to drill out their creative imagination for the future. The own use of and insistence on the use of good English, both oral and written, are considering as an essential part in the development of the student.

There are lots of aspirations in this academic year particularly to help the students to become cognizant of the changing needs by interpreting and implementing the ever increasing body of knowledge. Equally it is important to prepare the student, ideologically for constructive participation in the competitive events organized by Sahaya.

Attn. to Volunteers
A Volunteer must realize first of all that a handout can be taught as a liberal content and strive for the betterment from session to session. Such a process where the volunteer inspires his/her students toward creative endeavor and intellectual development not only while in School but the impact should be throughout their careers.

To achieve the above, volunteer should be endowed with energy, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest towards the sessions. To be fully successful, volunteer must exercise judgment and tact, and have the ability to meet the minds of his/her students and also should perform creative work whether it is in teaching or any other activities.

Following are the key points for the Volunteers to become “Student’s Favorite”
a.Comprehension while interacting with the students.
b.Ability to think straight in the application of fundamental principles.
    c.Reasonable skill in making approximation
d.Confidence on originality of the concept.

Finally volunteer has to build up necessary information from not only with handouts but also with newspaper articles, magazines and any other resource to ensure the better interaction with the children. Perhaps the greatest challenge facing by children today is that of achieving a workable balance between academics on the one hand and personal activities on the other. Sahaya is trying to bridge the needs of the students to do well in their academics with the sessions they’ve on every Saturday.

Ultimately all the initiated plans should be carefully evaluated by appropriate monitoring mechanisms before they are launched. Finally, a strategy is prepared dovetailing with annual plans which are ready for the implementation.

Hope for the BEST....

With Best Regards
